There's some hope for water damaged instruments (especially solid body electric guitars & basses):

Guitar restoration, water damage.

"Natural Disaster" was the name of my heavy metal cover band in the early 90's.




But back on topic, sad to see all these wonderful pieces of music history get ruined.
