Need Advice on Amplifying a Mandolin

Hey, Gang:
I have been very lucky to have a mandolin/fiddle player join the group I play in. Very exciting! Unfortunately, we are having real problems with the onboard preamp of the mandolin. The output is very low and it's hard to get a good level in the PA. Does anyone have any recommendations for outboard gear that will help with this? I have thought about bringing in my Fishman Pro Platinum Bass preamp, but there must be something a little more instrument-appropriate! Any help will be appreciated.

LR Baggs Paracoustic DI?

Groove Tubes Brick DI?

Those would probably work if you just need more level. The LR Baggs has EQ so it might be better. I like mine for amplifying ukulele/acoustic guitar/slide guitar.
