Need ASIO Help

Sign in to disble this ad
This thing is driving me crazy. I'm using Cantible for controlling VSTi with MIDI. Because my laptop has huge latency issues, I'm using the ASIO4ALL driver. Problem is, it doesn't work.

When I first installed it, it worked great! Everything was perfect, and I could even listen to iTunes while playing a VSTi.

Now it doesn't. The second time I started it up, it took me literally ages to get Cantible to make any noise at all. The ASIO interface told me that the MS wavetable synth was using up my output. Apparently there is no POSSIBLE way to just disable that damn thing, but you can work around it by making your soundcard non-exclusive? Anyway, I finally got it to work, somehow, I'm not really sure what I did. But normal sounds from iTunes and Chrome would not work any more.

Now, I'm trying to start it up again, and it just refuses to work. The soundcard has been set to non-exclusive....nothing. I can't even get it to run through the old driver, with it's half-second latency. I really have no idea how to make this work. And I'm getting really sick of it. Can someone please advise?

I'm running Windows 7 BTW, and the latest version of ASIO4ALL.
