Need buying advice for Nord Lead

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking into purchasing a used Nord Lead but I have no experience with synthesizers (but I can play a bit of piano). What should I check to make sure that the synthesizer is functioning? Test all of the keys, wheel and wooden joystick...run through as many settings as I can. Maybe check the inputs/outputs to see if they function. What else? Any tools I should bring, maybe my practice bass amp to run it through?

The Nord Lead is a digital modeling synth, so if something is broken on it, you'll know right away (unlike with true analog). Test all the outputs (with practice amp if you have to), run through the settings, play with all the knobs and the joystick, play all of the keys. If you haven't found anything after that and it looks mint, it probably is.

Great choice, by the way.
