need a good quality stand

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I need a new bass stand for my new Dingwall, through the years I've always used the cheapo standard stands but they tend to fall apart after awhile.
Can anyone recommend a good stand to get? I have looked at some of the online stores but not sure which ones are quality.

Thanks, John

Price is about the only thing I can suggest as a reference. Good chance that your higher-quality stands are going to cost more than $9.99. Anything in the $25-$30 range will probably be good quality.

I've never had a stand fall apart on me, so this baffles me.

I use a Hercules GS402B Mini Electric Guitar and Bass Guitar Stand. It's sturdy, compact, portable and around $35.

I've had a few different stands over the years. The past couple I've gone with these...

Light weight, durable, are solid when setup, and fold down nicely. Have 3 of them that I've used regularly the past 3 years.

I've used these for about 10 years or more. Just perfect, after 20 years of futzing with every imaginable style of stand around, I found these. They'll securley hold any bass with a headstock, they're stable, they don't take up a lot of real estate on stage, they fold down to a very small size, they don't get frozen to the touch when they sit in the van for a week during a Central Illinois January, and they don't have parts to get lost or broken.

I've got three or four of them now.

John

I would recommend the Hercules stand. I have used all of the above mentioned stands and really like the Ultimate GS-100 but the Herculues is much sturdier. With the ultimate stand, over time the plastic lock that secures the legs eventually breaks. I have had this happen to 4 stands. The Hercules is a bit bulkier, but I feel good about it and so far, it seems to be holding up well (3 years and 40+ gigs a year & rehearsals)

What I meant when I said "cheap stands seem to fall apart" is the rubber covers that are supposed to protect the neck and bottom of the bass seem to tear and fall apart. Thanks for the suggestions.
