Need a new Metronome

Sign in to disble this ad
I hate my metronome--it doesn't have a volume control, and the numbers are so small I can barely set it. I tried a couple of software metronomes on my computer--they're pretty functional, but seem a little unsteady (ahh...MS Windows).

So I'm in the market for a new one. This one looks pretty awesome, albeit for a price: Korg KDM-2 True Tone Advanced Digital Metronome

Anybody out there using it? Think it's worth the $46?

I have a Korg tuner/metronome think it cost me like $30. Works great. Not sure of the model # off the top of my head. If interested PM me.

Any opinions on this metronome? Is it worth the high dollar price?

I just got the Boss TU-88 for Christmas. It's a tuner, metronome, headphone amp and headphone mixer all in one. I think it's on sale for around $70 right now.

This is the first I've seen of this metronome, and it looks like it has all the bells, etc. I particularly like the very slow tempo it looks like it can achieve -- I like to use a very slow click to come in only even every 2 to 4 bars as a "check".

If you would prefer to spend only USD4.00 (with the holiday voucher) and can use a computer or iPhone, Web Metronome can go down to 1 bpm (like 1 beat per chorus!). No polyrhythms or any of that high fallutin' stuff, though. There's a free online version with the same functionality.

Edit: sorry, forgot the OP! Aside from going down only to 30 bpm, this Korg looks like a great metronome, and I have considered it myself. It sounds way better than that irritating digital "ping" most of them seem to have now.

Everybody,

Thanks so much for your input. I'll probably end up using your suggestions and save some money.

Happy New Year
