Ok, so pretend you are suggesting music for someone who has heard almost no new music since the beginning of 2007. Because that's essentially what has happened. I've been in the Middle East since January, and have had no access to American culture, somewhat intentionally. I've found some good music in Egypt and Israel, but by and large Arab pop sucks harder than.. not going there.
So pretend all I've heard since the start of the new year is the White Stripes' Icky Thump (at the insistence of a friend, just about the second I walked in her door)
