I'm starting to think about moving over to Toronto for work (from the UK) but don't really know much about it.
I grew up in London and I'm currently living in Aberdeen (a town in north east Scotland that is the center of the UK oil industry) and frankly Aberdeen is starting to feel like a dead end work-wise and more importantly ... musically.
What's the scene like in Toronto? Playing wise I'm pretty open but anything that even smells like funk, soul or Motown gets a big
I've always wanted a good hip hop gig but interesting rock stuff (Mars Volta, RATM, Led Zep etc) is good too as long as it isn't too punky.
Basically I'm looking for somewhere interesting, arty, with a good music scene and a good bar scene. I have no particular aspirations about making my living through music but I'd like to be gigging most weekends.
Does Toronto fit the bill? There's only so much you can tell from Wikipedia.
