Need some help with my keyboard.....

I decided today to hook up my keys to the computer and see if I could record some stuff.

Anyway, when I went to play I could hear the notes but they were crackly and squeaky. I was using a USB port that I know works (cause I tested it with my memory stick) and the cable is new.

Any ideas?
