need some keyboard rig advice

Sign in to disble this ad
my keyboardist has an odd setup, and he's trying to streamline - any suggestions (or suggestions of where else to better ask this question) would be appreciated!

his rig is a Roland keyboard (mono/stereo) and a Fender Rhodes (mono), to a mixer, then out to a wah, a volume pedal, and a line6 Delay modeller, then on to a small Roland acoustic guitar amp, which also gives a DI for the house sound.

the main problem is that the rig is really hissy, and he'd like to find a simpler setup overall - eliminating the mixer would help.

any suggestions on a high quality amp or preamp that can run stereo or mono, has at least 3 channels, has a shared effects loop, a good DI section, and 50+ watts?

We've seen the Motion Sound stuff and the Barbetta stuff, but neither has effect loops. The Roland amps tend to sound like junk, so they're out as well. I'm not finding much else in searches on the internet - any suggestions?

Thank you all!

We've got a keyboardist with some pretty noisy stuff that just needed to get cleaned out, the other stuff is just out of date and needs to be replaced. Start pulling pieces out of the signal chain until there is no more noise.

He should also send the signal from the mixer to the PA, not from the Roland.

Ive heard mixed emotions about that bose amp but that sounds like it would work pretty well for what he wants it for.
