'need a "sound" in order to play

Sign in to disble this ad
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it almost impossible to play/practice unless you're getting the sound/tone that you like ?

If I don't have my gear set up just right, with all the knobs and tweeks set just right, then forget it ! ....it's not even worth the effort...

comments/suggestions ?

Well, I'm still searching for my sound so I tend to fiddle with nobs and such every other time I practice lol. If I were too picky, I'd probably never practice cause my amp sucks and it hums like an angry bee pretty much all the time. I ignore it and try to only listen to the note, whether I like the sound or not

Yeah, I have that same problem. It just doesn't seem right if I don't have my tone dialed in.

Of course that isn't an issue unless I'm using someone else's gear.
