Incredible.
preface - i played three sets at a camping/music festival in PA this weekend, and my bandmates (crew of 7) tracked back to NYC mid-day Sunday completely exhausted but determined not to miss this.
NERVE hit at 12:30, and played a little over an hour (looks like the club had a hard stop time). ten minutes into the set, John was down a low E string, and the next 50 minutes were played on a three-string J-Bass, not that you'd ever know it if we hadn't watched the thing snap and get torn off mid-song.
all new material, too - thanks so much for playing the fresh stuff, of course with a
Jabon closer. the band's sound was huge. John's bass tones have turned completely otherworldly - it's really wild to hear it in the room. the set was well-crafted, alternating between dubstep, jungle, broken-beat, and house styles at just the right moments to keep things moving nicely, which made for a quick hour of music. Takuya and Jojo never fail to amaze, too.
John - nice talking with you, sorry you've got some work ahead of you with the Tomastiks.

15 years is an awfully long wait between broken strings...thanks for a memorable night of fresh, modern music.
i did take one pic with my cameraphone. fuzzy, but i think it accurately summarizes the NERVE experience:
again, kudos to you, John, and NERVE on the badass show.
