My friend has obbessive compulsive disorder and I was playing bass and she tells ne that the tuning pegs were facing in differnt directions was bothering her. I told her the bass was in tune and they have to go that way or the bass wont be in tune. But I stop playing and put the bass on the stand for a moment and she goes over to my bass and turns all the tuning pegs so they are in a row. And she knocked it totally out of tune. I told her that it knocked the bass out of tune. She says it was bothering her and that now that all the tuning pegs are even she feels better and it looks better to the eye. I can tune it later when she is gone.

i know how bothersome that is. my aunty had OCD, and she constantly cleaned her house. it was very annoying and disturbing to see her clean the everything more than 3 times, but she couldn't really help it, it was caused by a mental breakdown.

you just have to put up with it and only play when your friend isn't at your place.

My friend cleans her house obsessively too. When i eat at her place I feel like a baby. She makes me wear a bib, puts a towel under my plate and a towl under my chair on the follor. If I get one crumb on the floor she begins to obsessivley clean the entire house.

my friend use to only eat candy and other small things in twos, like two M&M's or two sour patch kids. It was odd, but then she became a huge stoner and smoked the ocd out of herself.

that used to bother me too with the tuning heads not all facing the same way, and i sometimes try to get it so that standard tuning makes them all uniform, but i don't have OCD to the point where i can't play the bass if they aren't, but i like uniformity if i can help it

I don't have OCD, but a Steinberger bothers me to look at regardless....it's like a flat chested woman.

But I have never played one either, may be if I had, I would be a convert, who knows.

i would put your pegs all even before she come, do it by loosening the strings, you dont want her straigtning em and snap!

I don't have OCD and ive actually considered trying to get the pegs in a line and have them in tune, but i gave up after the E string. it just took too much effort to keep unwinding and rewinding until it was in tune and straight

My maternal grand-mother must have had this. When I was a kid, not only would she not remove the plastic off the sofa, I wasn't allowed to sit on it.. I had to sit on the floor when I visited her with my Mom.

Could someone send one or two of those house-cleaning OCDs to my place?

As for the tuning pegs, use round ones.
