So What does everyone think of ACDC's New single?
I am stoked that they are finally back. and I think that they
were able to stick to true ACDC sound.

I like it! I have liked them for years. They have done the same album about 15 times in a row - but so what!!!! I thought I would get that in before everybody started wining about it. ACDC has nothing to do with songwriting or recreating the wheel. They have something that nobody else really has these days, and that is FEEL!!! Who cares that you cant understand Brian Johnson. I have heard the new album and it is solid.

As an AC/DC completist, I'm still waiting for the new album to be available outside the US and UK. On a side note, I'm curious: Was it released independently? Why isn't available through sites like Amazon.com?

Oh I'm lookin' forward to it, I pre-ordered the special edition (comes in a 20-something page hardcover book). I have close to all of their albums on MP3, and a couple on CD... should be a good addition to the "collection".

"Black Ice," as well as all their old albums, is on Sony/Columbia in the US. Apparently AC/DC owns their masters, and are no longer on Atlantic. So it's not an indie...it's just that WalMart committed to buying 3 million copies in return for the exclusive rights to sell it in the US.

And BTW, it is FANTASTIC! It's by far the most consistently good album they've done since "Back In Black." I downloaded a leaked advance copy of it, and I can't stop listening to it. I will be going to WalMart later tonight to buy it for real. If you like AC/DC, you will love it. "Big Jack," "War Machine," "Stormy May Day," and "Spolin' For A Fight" are probably my favorite songs other than "Rock And Roll Train." Hard to believe they're all in their 50's except Brian, who's 61. It sounds like it could have been made in 1976, except of course for Bon Scott not being in the band now.

AC/DC have made a deal with Wal-Mart to be the exclusive sellers of Black Ice in North America. Wal-mart are buying 3 million copies of the CD, non-returnable and selling it for no more than $9.99. So as of today Black Ice has instantly sold 3 million copies in North America alone. Nice gig if you can get it lol!

No arguably about it, bro The thing I like best about AC/DC is their unwillingness to change the formula. AC/DC is a band that knows exactly where they stand, and they've never gone in for pretention or exercising their artistry for the sake of whacking themselves off. They do what they do, and that's it.

I can't say I'm going to run out and get it, I'd just like to say I think it's awesome that they are still at it and still sound pretty damn good. But, I will say it's creepy as hell to see Angus do the "schoolboy" these days.

They are definitely starting to show their age in the photos included with the CD.

I watched a ton of the ACDC orgy on VH1 Classic this weekend. It was great to see the old BBC shows with Bon out front. I just love this band.

Back when I was a kid and butting heads with my Dad about everything this band was the only thing we had in common. My dad was a 6'3" 285 lb. cowboy. Big Howard LOVED AC DC.....We went to see them several times together. He's gone now but I can crack myself up thinking of him at these shows. I remember they opened for Journey on the last tour before Bon died. We were on the 4th row. Angus is doing that long solo in "Bad boy boogie". He's running across the stage in front of us....... My Dad's just rockin out and yells.....LOUDLY. Angus stops in his tracks and just stares at my Dad and cracks up laughing!! And there's Dad, in boots, with his western shirt (pearl snaps) and giant belt buckle, throwing the horns up and just going nuts.....

Anyway, these guys could fart into a mike and I'd dig it. The fact that they are still really good at what they do is just a bonus.

it's out? excellent! one of the few things that makes me feel better as an aging musician. it's bad when a good looking girl comes up and is flirty, then asks if you'd like to meet her mother. ouch.
