New Band, Basses and Cab day!!!!

Played my first gig in several months this week. Brand new band, all old time players, no rehearsal, just show up and play type deal. Did some Steely Dan, Little Feat, a touch of fusion type stuff, classic rock, etc. It was also my first time to hear my new DJ5 and Warmoth fretless through an amp. It was also my first time to run through a Mesa PH115, powered with my Aggy 500sc. The result of all these "firsts"???? One helluva good time!!!

Both basses sounded great, the Mesa performed really well, I bought it off one of the guitar players that night, and the band gel'd extremely well ! Both guitarists are tasteful and NOT volume addicts, the drummer has a really nice feel, and everyone gets plenty of room to stretch out if they're so inclined.

No real point to this thread other than I'm still pumped 2 days after the show and just wanted to share with folks who can appreciate the joy of getting to play with great players, and getting to do it on all new killer gear!!! I now return you to your regularly scheduled GAS syndrome. Thanks for reading.

Well that's inspirational! Sounds like you found yourself with good gear and a great band to play it with. Consider me envious! We should all be so fortunate.

I don't consider myself the jealous type. Until I read posts like this. Good for you, voodoo. This is the reason we play the game. Squeeze that lemon until the juice runs down your leg...

Thanks guys. It has been a bit of a dry spell for me over the past year. No gigs, lack of interesting bands, etc etc. Glad i was patient and waited for the right opportunity to arise. I guess if there's a moral to the thread it would be,...never just settle for less than you want,...wait for the golden ring,..it's worth it!
