New to bass

Hey I currently play the drums but I have always wanted to play the bass. I just wanted to introduce myself as my first post here. I don't currently have a bass but after I get back from my trip in about a week I should have some money to buy one. Not too much, probably about 300-400. What do you guys reccomend? I don't have a cab or speakers or anything either but i'm sure I could live without one for a little bit.

That bass is a good price, and is an all around one, not just a beginners one.

For an amp, I'd say one of SWR's LA Models, one of the lower wattage ones.
