My neck/back were giving me some "discomfort" so I've been going to the chiropractor for the last 4 months or so. Back is feeling great.
Two weeks ago I get a Modulus Q5 and now I am hurting again. The bass is much heavier than I remember. If you have a heavy bass, and back issues, how have you dealt with it? Will a Comfort Strapp help? It seems people like them. Other suggestions?
I also notice my left hand hurts a little as I am used to a 34" scale bass and this is a 35" scale? I assume I'll get used to it? |

Macho men will tell you to get used to it, but I don't give a flip what macho men say. Get a bass that's two pounds lighter and in a comfortable scale length, you'll be happier in the long run. |

As I think back on my past basses - I know, there have been many - the comfortable one's have been 4 string, 34" scale. My Yamaha 5 string is 34" and was/is fairly comfortable to play, but lately I have been having more discomfort even playing that bass.
I like 5 strings - especially at church - but if it comes to playing without pain, I could learn to get buy with a 34" scale 4 string bass. I don't want to have pain doing something I love. |

| | | | If you really want to keep the low end sound without playing a 5 string, check out a 4 string bass with a BEAD setup. |

And that includes playing 4 hour cover gigs on Fridays AND Saturdays. I love that strap! Yes, if anything it could look a little cooler, but once you're on stage it just looks like any other black guitar strap.
Good luck! |

I had numbness in my fretting hand while playing my Stingray and physical therapy failed to make a dent in it.
However, two weeks in crossfit - www.crossfit.com and it was GONE.
