New bass only store in Philly.

So, I go to find a new washer today after work at a local scratch & dent place, and look over and see a sign that says "Bass" in it. First thought is can't be, must be related to fishing or something. Talk a walk over and sure enough a bass store called Bass Specialties! I thought I've seen most stores in the area, how did I miss this?

I'm pretty happy as the closest bass only store is a few hours away (Bass Palace), and all the other stores in the area cater to guitar players... Walkin' in I notice that it's quality equipment in stock, both amps and basses! I had only a few minutes so I didn't get to pick anything up.

Talked to the owner for a few minutes, he seems very customer friendly unlike most stores I've been to... Find out it opened about a week or two ago. Now I have a place to "take a break" while on my sales calls.

They had Schroeder, MTD, G&L, Zon, Modulus, Lull basses, and more in stock.

Worth a look! Here's a link, Bass Specialties Link

*disclaimer - I am not part of this store in any form, not employed, blah, blah, blah. Just spreading the word of a cool store!

This is great news. I live about an hour from Philly, and not anywhere near another all-bass store.

Glenn Marrazzo is the owner and a great guy doing a great service to all the players in the area. he goes by the TB username BassSpecialties. last weekend was the grand openeing with a master class by gerald veasley. and i'm hearing a rumor that victor wooten himself may be making an appearance this coming weekend

you guys in the area that haven't made it out there yet, i highly recommend it. Glenn has some quality gear there (i'll warn you now about the GAS attack you will get )

So I saw Victor Wooten, play at the store.

My god, what a monster! He played a while, then talked about music, and mingled with the crowd before he had to leave for a soundcheck.

I gotta thank this store (Glenn Marrazzo) for an amazing time!

Anyone else go?

I just heard about the store recently after talking to Tim Cloonan of Callowhill basses (a GREAT luthier here in philly!). Hanging out in his store was the most bass related fun I've had in a looong time!
