So, here I am listening to the Coldplay album that came out in the U.S. today. I really like it, and I would like to hear other people's opinions are?

Color me underwhelmed, I was more of a fan back in the "rush of blood" era, and thought XY was kinda weak, save for 2 songs. |

I like that this album doesn't feature as much falsetto, and musically it's in a decently different direction than their last. The music sounds more lush, atmospheric and a bit more melodic. And there's a more variety on this than their last album. Overall, I like it much better than X&Y.
And is it just me, or do the drums sound different on certain songs? For instance, the beginning kick on Viva La Vida almost sounds like a sample to me.

Coldplay's drummer doesn't even pretend to play with feel and it pains me just to listen to them. They're just so... so.... bad! (not that I expected any better based off of previous stuff, but at least I could listen to it...)
GAH!
>_<
Don't want to turn this into a flame war... you asked for my opinion.
