I have one but do not know what it weighs. Maybe a call to Fender can answer your question?

It's a little heavier than the old style molded hardshell case as far as I can tell, but not by much. I own both types of Fender bass cases.

BTW: I hate the old style molded hardshell cases. The new SKB style cases are a big improvement IMO. They are more rugged and the case closes properly without having to twist it to get the aluminum edges to line up.

I got an email:

"Hello,

Thanks for writing in. Here are the boxed weights of those cases:

New SKB – 8 pounds

Standard Molded – 15 pounds

I hope this will help you out.

Best Regards,

Jeff Krause"

Isn't that a BIG difference?

I haven't weighed mine (still), but I believe it - mine seems pretty darned light.

Please read the whole post, I emailed them and pasted the email here, just read...

Regarding my problem, they told me that the old case has 15 pounds, and the new one 8... Which seems unreal for me, and that's why I am asking someone here to confirm me the weight of one of these, to see is this is true...

Thanks TalkBass!
