Yep. Got me a guitar. Not a G****** or a "skinny six string piccolo" or any of that crap.

A guitar. It's probaby a piece of crap, but that's different.

Squier Musicmaster. It actually plays pretty well, and doesn't sound too bad. Straight neck, decent fretjob, setup's not bad, electronics aren't noisy. About the only thing hinckey is that the D tuner is a bit loose, but I can take care of that. If not, it won't break the bank to get a new set of tuners.

And it was cheap. That's the best part.

No, pawn shop, but I checked it out in shop for long enough to know what I was getting into.

Hey, where's the seventh letter in G****** come in?

On a serious note, I would suggest simply buying a new set of tuners for it. I recently defretted a Squier Affinity Strat on a whim, and I replaced the tuners as soon as the job was done. The original tuners on mine were plastic...no joke...and they couldn't hold a tune for anything. Get new ones from All Parts. You will be pleased.

Pick any of those. If he doesn't birdhunt, too bad. If he doesn't smoke a tobacco pipe, too bad.

Apathy.

I'll check Allparts; Read a bunch of reviews, and the tuners were about the only complaint.

I like squier guitars. I bought one a few months ago. I couldn't be happier with what I got. It plays great sounds even better and the colour is to die for

Pretty good lookin' to me!

I think every bassist should know how to play guitar, but that's just me.

That seems like a decent rocker, thumbs up.

Yeah, tuners are the usual suspects with cutting corners on MIKs and their ilk.

I was just wondering...people in this thread seem to appreciate Squier guitars for the most part, but, in general, on the forums, Squier basses are seen as

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
