Anybody notice the Hartke ad on the back of BP magazine? Never particuarly liked Hartke stuff, but I love that ad. That takes balls.
edit: had to do it! i just called. he answered. he sounds like an awesome guy. i think it's great when companies work towards having relationships with their customers. he may have even possibly won me over into trying their stuff again. i AM in the market for a new amp.
haha! i'm not sure why but this little bit of craziness just really brightened my day a bit.
The ad says "WE TRIED TO SP STOP HIM. REALLY. After a lifetime of reaching out to artists, Larry may have finally lost it. Now he wants to talk to every player on the planet."
Then it gives his cellphone number and says - "Think we're kidding? Call and see who answers."
I think the pick is kinda funny too, he has a great expression on his face. I'd post the number here but something doesn't feel entirely right about it. Not sure why.
The ad displays a phone number and claims it to be a direct line to Mr. Hartke. Apparently, that is true. It's definitely a different take on a marketing campaign, but I question it's ultimate success. I guess it's nice to be able to get in touch with "the man" in the event that I had an issue with Hartke gear, but I'm not sure it would convince someone to buy his gear if they already didn't like it.
