New Heaven and Hell (Sabbath) - Hiss in song

Is it my ears not hearing something?
On (I think) Rock and Roll Angel - I curse myself for leaving my Walkman at home on this roadtrip - there is a very nice and slow interlude with a sweet guitar solo.
But I think it is darn-near ruined by a hiss of an effect pedal. I think, in this day and age, that there is no excuse for that.
Now, it could be a synth pad or something, but my ears are not hearing it - I only hear the hiss.
They should fix that!
