I spoke with the author of a Hendrix biography at a book signing, Charles Cross, A Room Full of Mirrors. Released within the last 3-4 years. I asked him directly if there was any unreleased music still out there, music that Jimi had spent a lot of time working on in the studio and not live concert recordings. He said that there is unreleased studio material still out there. Various persons are holding it for various reasons.
I am a huge fan of Jimi, yet was disapointed in South Saturn Delta, scrapping the bottom of the barrell here. First Rays of the new Rising Sun was and is one of my all time favorite albums.

Did he record much after he died?

There are a whole bunch of legal hendrix bootlegs out there, if you know where to look. Odds are there won't be anything really eye-opening on this disc.

Not enough to fill up a whole album.
