New Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart Album

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I just thought I would post about this for any fans of the original Jeff Beck Group, such as myself. Apparently Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart have been working on some demos for a possible new album. If it's anything like Truth or Beck-ola, I'll be getting it. I thought those two albums were killer. Though, I will be a bit disappointed if Ronnie Wood doesn't reunite with the guys on bass. Here's a link for more info. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110304/...nm/us_jeffbeck

As a lifelong Beck fanatic, I have to say "I'll believe it when I see it."

I really hope they can get it together. IMO Rod's never been better than he was with Jeff.

I'd love it if it happens, but I'd rather hear a real bassist than Woody's frustrated guitarist playing. I love how Rod and Jeff seem to push each other in ways they aren't pushed by others, sort of like Ginger Baker/Jack Bruce, or Mick/Keith.

This would be the only thing that could get me interested in a Rod Stewart album at this late date.

As for Ron Wood, he plays a variety of guitar-instruments VERY well, and bass is hardly outside his spectrum. I certainly like his bass playing better than Bill Wyman's!
