New Korg Tuner Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Found this on musicians friend looks like it could be a great new stomp pedal. True bypass and looks like it could be a nice substitute for the boss tuner

Looks good. Nice features, and narrower than their DT-10.

I saw that too, after just picking up a DT-10 used.

Depending on its reviews I might just sell the DT-10 and get this one. I like that it's smaller and has true bypass plus more tuning options.

Why the heck are tuners of any sort so friggin expensive? Like those little handheld tuners cost 15 bucks. So encasing it in a bit of metal and some brighter leds makes the cost go up by 6.5 times?

it doesn't say if it's as precise as the DT-10

The DT-10 hasn't had blue LEDs for awhile, though.

I noticed that as well. I doubt I'd sell the DT-10 outright as I'm sure it's still a great tuner, but I'd highly consider it after the new one has been tested extensively and turns out to be great.

Try stepping on your $15 tuner and get back to us on that would'ja ? That's why the floor boxes cost more. That - and they typically will power up 2 or 3 more pedals making them a cheap date for a small pedal board.

I have the Korg floor unit in both my guitar and bass rigs - if it's not 'true-bypass' you could have fooled me. Pretty much sounds the same in the circuit or out to me...

My only complaint is that 1 has blue LED's and 1 has green. For some strange reason I really prefer the blue... weird - they do the same thing but blue is better ... I feel so shallow ... actually I wish the power supply options on these were better a variable 9 to 18 vdc output along with a 9v dc dedicated would be very cool...

^^ Blue LEDs are much more easily visible in the light. I don't think you're being totally shallow (though they look a lot cooler also)

I, on the other hand, think you're being totally shallow but that makes two of us.

I like how the Korg pitchblack Tuner looks. It's much friendlier to read than the DT-10. While the size is a definite space-saver and makes it tempting to buy, I can certainly appreciate what this pedal might do to the prices of regular DT-10s and DT-10BRs...

Anyone know why they stopped making the blue LED version?? I'm glad I got mine while they were available. I could use the pedalboard space this one would free up though.

That's weird. They switched to the green sometime back. Was it new? Was it one of the standard colors or was it one of those special edition models?

I, too, think the blue LEDs are cooler, but I guess Korg had a reason for changing them.

Green LEDs are slightly cheaper.

Sad but true.

I honestly can't believe the color of the LED's in a tuner is an issue. I recently picked up a DT-10. I had a choice of LED colors. The red/green was $25 cheaper than the blue/white. Guess which one I bought?
