"NEW" LOG BASS - NEED A COUNT

Sign in to disble this ad
All,

It has been so long since the issue of a LOG bass came out. It has been so long, we need to get a new count.

As you all remember, we were attempting to get a LOG bass with the following specs:

DJ OR JO Body
passive
natural color
Black pick guard
Blocks and binding

We were really getting tied up in the whole DJ vs. JO thing.

I just got off the phone with Dan and he is willing to "deal with us" on a mix of basses.

Here is the deal (and Dan is willing to place an order VERY soon if we can get the data to him).

I need to know how many of you want the following:

A) DJ with blocks and binding

B) JO with maple neck (dots - not binding or blocks (sorry - they cannot match up the correct neck to get the block option on a JO)

C) The other option would be to go with a US JO at a good discount (the Skyline would still be cheaper).....

Also - Dan is offering us (as an incentive) to be one of the first basses to have the "new narrow" Chi Sonic pickups installed in these basses - these are new Chi Sonics which will fit into the Jazz slot.

He needs to know the numbers soon so he can "fill the rest" of the orders through dealers and other means....

please PM me if you are still interested.

the cost will be the same as a "standard" JO or DJ.....Dan is also willing to get gig bags (approx. $30 each) and I can see about getting the new LOG LOGO embroidered on them.....

let me know...thx!!!!

I think the choice just got tougher! They all seem appealing...

The idea of getting a US JO at a good price is certainly worth exploring. But blocks and binding are pretty cool too. And I'm very interested in the new pickups. Dan is really giving us some great options here so let's make this happen!

Email sent!

Would it be possible to have a rough idea of the price of a US JO - Option "C" ?

Any update on this? And forgive me, cause I wasn't really involved in the previous thread, would the blocks and binding be pearl or black? A cheaper USJO would be very appealing though. Very very very. hahaha

IIRC, the idea was to have black blocks and binding, but this would be applicable to the DJ only. The JO would have dots.

Ahh. Ala Adam Clayton's bass? That is the same combo that I remember seeing pictures of him playing. Looked really good!

LOG Bass Bad News/Good News

I have some bad news and some good news.....we cannot seem to get enough interest to get a "specific" LOG bass going, but..........

I just talked to Dan and for those of you who are interested in a DJ version (natural, black blocks, black guard).....they will be available middle of the year (May/June)......I would reserve one now....the dealer may not know what you are asking for since Dan etal have not made a "general announcement" or communicated this to the dealers yet, but Dan says they can contact Lakland for confirmation......

also - Dan is investigating a new Lakland strap!!!!! This MAY be part of the LOG membership kit (paper work will be filled out soon and we will be "official!")

Sorry to hear that, Doug.

I know you're tired of me tho'ing stuff out there when you're trying to conduct a count, but figured here's a good place to tho' it.

I'm really more a fan of the 60's spacing and love my JO5. I sold a JO5 in the past only to get another JO5 (only reason to sell one, IMHO). I'd shuffle the deck around again for a Skyline JO5 in Olympic white with a RW board. Especially if it was nice and light.

Sorry for the aside. You also know I'm out here if this one was a 5er.

How's the new DJ5 coming?
