just heard about it from a friend, and i checked wiki and got this....
"On February 9, 2007, Metallica confirmed that pre-production on the ninth studio album had been completed, and recording began on March 12, 2007.[66] Set for release in September 2008, Metallica and Rubin "polished" vocal mixes throughout December 2007.[67]"

This album is supposed to have long, epic songs with major guitar riffage, double bass, and lots of soloing. I think Trujillo would go great with such a recipe, let's hope they deliver on their promises.
