New pickups for guitar?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all:

I recently purchased a new guitar (Douglas WT-445: http://www.rondomusic.net/wt445.html ) and though the guitar plays great, the pickups sound...flat. Now, since it's a tri-humbucker guitar, i don't really know what i'm doing with replacing them. I'm interested in playing mainly distorted stuff with this guitar. Can you guys recommend me a set of 3 pickups that would do well for what i'm after? I don't exactly have a budget, but cheaper is always better. Thanks!

If you're mostly playing with distortion, flatter pickups can be nice. Too many harmonics and stuff can harsh up the sound a lot.

I mean flat like, devoid of tone.

Check out GFS pickups from GuitarFetish. Killer pickups for dirt cheap prices. Tons of varieties to choose from. I've got some Mean 90's (humbucker sized P90's) that I'm going to install in an Ibanez hollowbody as soon as I get the time.

I've got to agree with this, I just bought a Filtertron style pickup for my hollowbody to try and stave off buying a Gretsch guitar and so far I'm really happy with the sound.

Okay, these pickups look really good, and I'm liking the "loudmouth" in the bridge and neck, but I don't know what to put in the middle.
