new Rush album fact/rumor roundup

Sign in to disble this ad
To be titled Snakes and Arrows with an April/May release date.
First single "Far Cry" in mid-late March.
In recent interviews with the band and producer Nick Raskulinecz (better known for producing the Foo Fighters) and Neil Peart's web postings, they're all pretty much freaking out over how much they love this new album, which is supposed to sound akin to their late-'70s output. Nick was a huge fan of that period and encouraged the band, particularly Geddy and Neil, to really stretch out in the studio. The guys in the band have said how invigorating the whole process was.
Rumor: keyboards apparently make a "window dressing" return, including the use of a Mellotron.

Can't wait!

Hopefully on the one after this they'll pay tribute to the 1986-1991 glory days!

That said, I am very excited about this.

“Bloppida-bloppida-batu-batu-whirrrrr-blop—booujze.”

Sounds like Neil liked their producer. I too cannot wait for this album.

I hope I get to see them this tour. The last few years have been an apparent plot to prevent me from going to a Rush concert. That whole 12-hour-night-shifts-every-Wednesdaythrough-Friday-night-and-every-other-weekend thing is a real pain frequently.

I will not miss them out here in California, and I am seriously thinking about taking my kid this time.

I'll sell a kidney or two to get to sit up front. Whatever it takes.

Everybody, we must, regardless of how painful it might feel, realize that this just might be the last album, hence the last tour, hence the last time we get to experience this pre-release giddiness we get to experience with these guys. Let's enjoy this everyone. And if you can, travel and see as much of the tour as possible.

I saw the opening show on the Vapor Trails tour and two shows on the R30 tour. I'll definitely see them this time around too! Not sure if I can afford the expensive seats as last time it was $45 for lawn seats in my area.

That first Vapor Trails show was so cathartic. Seeing them back up onstage in front of an audience for the first time in years was an incredible experience

Yeah they're not exactly young anymore... but hey what's left of the Stones and Who are still going at it. But then again, Neil Peart's been trying to stop touring since 1989.
