New wireless help!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
HI

Ok, people. I hope this is the right forum for my question. Please move it if not

I want to get a new wireless system. I play a ton of gigs and my Shure system is getting long in the tooth. It also tends to overload and I'm starting to think I'm over it.

I want to get an Xwire but they are out of business. What else should I look at? I'm not opposed to spending $400 to $500 on a quality unit. I want something that will handle a bass guitar and not clip so much. I play Sadowsky basses if that makes a difference, I dont know

Any suggestions? Not looking to cheap out, want to get a hi quality, awesome wireless Thanx in advance

Rob

FWIW, I recently read over in (I think) the Miscellaneous forum that Xwire is back in business, although they have differently-designed products now which nobody in that thread had tried yet.

There's really great Shure systems around, too (the ULXS, and the ULXP), that I've seen good reviews for. They range around $500 to $600.

If you want more in-depth wireless info... Wireless is now in the domain of the "Miscellaneous" forum, and not effects. That's why you'll hardly find any threads in here about it

Yep, the lefty is right. I'll throw this in Misc for you.

Xwire is back in business, a more compact model.

I'm still happy with Sennheiser EW100 G2's. And so was each of the three bands I worked crew for last weekend. Five people wireless, all using G2's and sounded great with them.

The new x-wire will be available on January, and its specs and price seem quite worth the wait. If I were you I'd wait for the first reviews to see if it's worth it, I'm sure you can even use a cable for the next 40 or 50 days... it might be so-so, but it might also be awesome so don't shorten your choices if you don't have to.

Aside from the stuff in our PMs, the Shure ULXS is a superb unit. The only place to buy it is Northern Sound and Light.
