Been off both music and Talkbass for a while due to big life changes...retired from the Navy, started working for Norfolk Naval Shipyard, wife changed jobs too, schedules jumping around, busy busy busy. I finally decided this Christmas that it was time to get back into my musical hobby, and to make myself happy in the process.
I had to sell my first bass, a Fender P, several years ago, and I have been gassing for another P ever since. That got fixed this past weekend, with a new Squier VM P that is destined to be my main bass for a while to come. Pics to follow.
I also checked a few pedals off my list. After debating it for months, I finally bought a new DeltaLabs DD-1 digital delay, to experiment with beside my trusty MXR Carbon Copy. And after learning that getting my broken Demeter Compulator repaired would cost as much as a new pedal, I have a new Aguilar TLC comp on the way.
Finally, I unburdened myself of a bad relationship. I had such high expectations for my Fender Aerodyne, but it never quite worked out like I wanted. New year, out with the old, in with the new, so I sold it. As it turned out, it just about paid for the new stuff I bought, so I guess it was meant to be.
All in all, I think it's a good start to the new year. More to come? We shall see.
