What are all these clubs I've seen? In signatures and in the forums here and there. How would I become a member of such a club?

They're just for fun, really. Nothing formal or secretive about them.

Normally, somebody will start a club for owners of a piece of gear that they happen to have and like. Then other owners of that same gear will "join". To join one, you normally have to post that you want to join; and most will ask you to post a picture of that specific item.

For example, lets say you want to join the "Fender Precision Club". You would just post into that thread showing a picture of your Fender P-Bass with a little description (ie., "Here's my '07 MIA P"). Then whomever happens to be assigning numbers will later assign you a number.

Just post in a "club" thread, and you're a "member".
