bah... figured mahogany, most likely. bog-standard tonewood, but the pomelle figure, rather nice. skilled photo setup. Nice koa, but not amazing. The neck leaves me cold... that isn't figure, that's flaws and crazy grain. not what you want in a neck. The luthier must have had a "fun" time bending those sides... The wood should have been used for electric tops, IMHO. Can't beat straight grained rosewood for looks (or tone, if it's nice wood) on acoustics.
Overall, quite nice back, keeps the look of the wood. I'm rather turned off by the neck, though I'm sure it's still a good instrument.
and, they've got to fire the guy who didn't clean the backdrop...
I think I'm a bit of a cynic... or a critic... heck, an anarcho-cynicalist or something of the sort. the above may seem a bit more harsh than it was intended...
