Nightmare in Reno...

Can't believe this one....I've had some weird gigs before, but this one....never happened!!
One of the bands I'm in got a decent gig in Reno, Nv. that paid halfway decent for an out-of-town gig for us and included lodging, as well...we were all stoked to go up and make our mark there, as we've heard how receptive the big party crowds up there in Party-Town are....and to sweeten the deal, they have a full-on sound system at the venue, with 3 cable guys as laborers, ready to make us happy!
Load amps and instruments up, beat feet to reno, the gig was last night (Friday) at The Green Room, downtown Reno. Get up there, play around a little, get a shave and a shower, load up the vehicle, my cell phone rings:
(lead guitarist and band leader) Dude, we have problems!
(me) Yeah, sure...what, you bring mis-matched socks or sumpin'? ('cause we screw around with each other a lot before a gig)
(lead guitarist and band leader) No, seriously, man...Stew (our drummer) just got arrested for warrants and the cops are going to give us the opportunity to get over there and pick up his truck with the drum set inside if we can get there in under 10 minutes!
The rest of the night:
Ran over quickly and grabbed Stew's truck and put the drum set in the Hotel room, call the club, call the promoter that set it up for us, call the jail to find out what the procedure is, and just generally spend the rest of the night being pissed off. No gig. We finally posted bail ($397) and picked him up at 3:30 am, and he was understandably contrite and super-embarrassed....the whole thing stemmed from a speeding ticket in Elko, Nv. from 3 years ago he had forgotten about. They pulled him over because his tags on his truck were expired because he hasn't been able to get it to pass smog and it's gone beyond the grace period...
What a Friday night, eh? Hope tonight's gig in Concord, Ca, at Vinnie's goes better!!

Yup, have been since last year...I've been in a couple of bands with Lane (guitar player) in the past...we always seem to get back together for one reason or another...

Vinnie's went ok for a last gig at a club....our style of music (Blues and Rocking Blues) just isn't cutting it there. The crowd is too young and too much into Linkin Park to make the adjustment....
