no class bass player at guitar center

Sign in to disble this ad
ive posted related topics about this before but i continue to get critized about my playing style. i have no plans on changing my style but it pi**es me off when when i was playing at guitar center playing with my thumb as mccartnay does and this bass player comes up to me and goes you dont know even know how to ******* play right let me use that amp and go take some lessons stupid. can u guys belive that?? then he proceeded to pick up a $800 fender play the intro to iron man and smoke on the water and then leave. ive dealt with people dissing me as long as ive been playing but this one was by far the worst experince ive ever had in music and now i really dont know if i wanna play otside of my house anymore. i know i can play but im just getting tired of everyone suddenly become a bassgod when they watch me play.

my question for my bass brothers and sisters is how should i handle this? should i change what im doing to a more accepted modren playing style?

for those who have never noticed it ive attached a link to show you how i play execpt im right handed while paul is lefty

Screw theem. In the end, the only judge that matters is you. The secret is to learn to mock the idiots in your head. Laugh at their idiocy. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This technique gave paul an amount of money and fame that even the whole bunch of japanese youtube bass shredders could ever dream of.
(no offence to japanese people here)

I believe the intro to Smoke On The Water walks up to the G and hangs there. Now that's what I call impressive! Shheesshh.....

The problem is this is america where the bigots take over. Sometimes you have to stand up to these idiots. Believe you me I've tried to ignore them too, but sometimes I Just have to tell them to SHUT UP!

For example when I was a little younger this kid would harass me everyday about the cruelest things. I told him to shut up for days, but he never would. I tried to ignore him and he kept doing it. So I knocked him in the face and sent him to the hospital and he stopped.

Hmmm ... a Jackass at guitar center ... geee what are the odds of that!

Ignore people like that they don't deserve your attention. Or say excuse me but you have me confused with someone who is interested in your opinion.

The three times I played bass at a music store one guy said

"Are you in a band. You should join one."

Another guy said

"Is that Hand of Doom by Sabbath"

and another guy said to some other guy

"Is that guy serenading you with a bass?"

When I play guitar people say,

"Turn it down man."
