No Effects Club?

I don't use any effects of any kind.
I have nothing against them, it's just not my thing.
My sound is bass+amp.
Anyone else?

*Mods, if you think this belongs in the effects forum, please redirect it. (You can see how it's difficult to place)

Bass > cable > TU-2 tuner > amp. That's all I use. That's all I need.

A) No they don't. There are only a small number of such clubs.
B) Those clubs are all about appreciating a piece of gear, while the "no effects club" threads are usually full of posts denigrating effects and their users.

If this one can stay all positive and just appreciative of the awesome sound of a bass direct to amp, then I certainly have no issue with it. I love that sound too! My earlier post was just based on the direction these threads have gone previously.

Does a limiter count? Not really an effect I have one and just use it to get rid of the "clanking" on one of my basses. But tonight I lowered my pickups and thru headphones at least, am thinking I may not need it anymore.

Otherwise it's bass set flat, amp set flat. Man, I'm boring...

I quite enjoy the simplicity an ease of just having one cable that connects the bass to the amp. No fuss about batteries and a lot less things to fiddle with in order to keep the tone the way you want it.

I recently put the DigiTech BNX3 and the Line 6 XT Pro back in their boxes. I tried the Line 6 first and found it made some nice tones BUT..... Then I tried the BNX3 and found a couple of other nice tones BUT.....
Bass + GK400RB IV + 2x10 or 4x10 and/or 1x15 (depending on room size) = one great sound. I'm now looking at a GK800 for the bi-amp capability. What do you think?

The tone is in the technique.
The funk is in the fingers.

My Turbo Tuner and J48 DI are the only things between my bass and my amp!

I'd kind of like to add an octave pedal though...
