I'm out of ideas, I'd love to continue buying music gear under $200 and can't find ANYTHING I need/want in that price range. Have I reached the end of my gear buying career???? The only things that catch my eye these days are a couple of basses, an amp or two, some pricier software or multieffect units and that's it. I'm so mad to not be buying stuff!

What do you need then? There's also a word called "save" - you could buy stuff for $400 if you buy that stuff half as often as you now buy the $200 stuff...

Just wait for it, something new will come along and you'll want it. In the meantime save up and buy something really expensive.

used is awesome, i've got tons of great used stuff here and on ebay.
it wouldn't be much problem to grab the other things on my wishlist over the next two months, i just don't feel like it - it's more fun buying small things and there's nothing i'm interested in! guess i'll pick up a squier vintage modified jazz fretless and practice more hehe.

i was just curious if anyone else has ever ran into this 'problem'

Well, spending more time actually playing and practicing will undoubtedly do you more good than obsessing over gear. Consider it a blessing in disguise.

Enjoy your momentary lack of gear lust ideas. Trust me when I say that g.a.s. never really leaves, it just has periods of remission before it comes roaring back with a vengance. You'll bump into that gotta' have it thing in due time.

Every time I think I'm GAS immune, something else strikes. It's almost like we need to gas about something.

It's not always bass gear though. At the moment I'm pretty clear on that front. But it can strike in a variety of forms - gadgets, property, cars, you name it. I currently have motorbike gas. Lucky for me that it's nearly winter and don't want one until the spring; the gas will probably have been swapped by then for something else.
