Nostalgic Song; Haven't heard since Childhood...

If you're not a fan of slow, mellow pieces, you probably wont like this

When I first heard this recently, it was like being flushed with all my old memories again (I'm not too old, but it's just so nostalgic). I had an old music box that would play this melody, and it just stuck with me for so many years (not that I liked this music back then, or that I was interested in music anyways, but it was just engraved in my memories).

Now throughout the past few years, my music tastes have begun to mellow out steadily. I love music like this, it was like deja vu. I don't even pay attention to lyrics, ever, and yet I'm enthralled by them. Everything about this song, I absolutely love.

Andy Williams - Love Story (Where Do I Begin?)

What do you think?

I remember that tune. I used to plunk it out on the piano as a kid. Great melody.

Sugar Sugar by the Archies evokes the same in me. Funny how certain songs get trapped in our subconscious. Certain smells do the same. I can't smell diesel fuel without thinking of my dad.

Music Box Dancer by Frank Mills is #1 for me. It takes me right back to being 4 or 5 riding in the station wagon with mom and rocking out...softly.

Another great melody. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N_tmH6y7ng

I was channel-surfing a few weeks (months?) ago and came across some old Andy Williams Shows from the 60's or 70's...holy crap, that guy had an incredible voice! Unbelievable control & consistancy. I was impressed.

I miss musical variety shows, wonder what a 2009 version would be like?

If you really watch and listen to singers like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams and Tony Bennett, they made/make it sound SO smooth and easy. Watching them you get the impression that singing came as easily as talking. It didn't, of course, but they were (are) incredible at making it look natural.

Yeah, I remember that song. I remember he had his own T.V. show too. My DAD liked it.
