Now I can't hear any basslines in songs...is there anything to help me?

Recently I've had massive issues with recordings of songs. I've found myself not being able to hear the basslines in songs.
I was listening to Limelight by Rush a few days ago and I could pick up no more than a handful of bass notes.

I'm seeing the doctor with regards to my general hearing but I was wondering whether there was a piece of software or a way I could seperate or at least boost the bass so I can hear it.

Someone has to do it....

I'm actually beginning to like this idea.....I could be at the front of the stage getting all the attention, telling jokes to the bassist and drummer, less heavy cabs to carry around..........

In regards to rock related recordings, that is one of the issues I don't like. The bass is not usually an upfront instrument and is usually mixed & blended into the recording. I do hope that you don't have any hearing issues.
