NYC Tber's: Know of any good monthly rental rehearsal rooms in Queens?

My band is looking to move operations out of the guitarists basement and into a rehearsal room. I've been on Craigslist and the only one I've seen is out of our price range and Google isn't helping much.

We are trying to keep it $500 a month or less, much preferably less . We really don't wanna share with any band as we plan to do recording in here as well and could use the extra space.

I knew of place in Whitestone, but the name escapes me. They had decent sized rooms starting around $350 or $400.

There's a place in Astoria on Broadway between Crescent st. and 29th I think. It's one store over from the Blockbuster video. It's a nondescript door entering into a basement. I don't know how to contact the owner, but I know people are always looking for other bands to share a room with. When I was still living in Astoria, which was September '08, I went to this joint a couple of times a week to play with some friends. I hope this answers your question.

There is a place a band I play in (Dead By Choice) plays in. It's in Whitestone. The room we have is about 20'x15' (don't hold me on the measurements) and it has some nice storage space over the drums. Visit the DBC myspace below and contact John (drummer). He will have more info on the room and another studio around the corner (that we didn't like as much).
