O/T Do you sing in your band?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I was wondering how many vocalists do we have here on TB? I find that there are fewer bass/singers than say guitards or drummers that sing either lead or background.

I do!

I would much rather just play bass though.

EDIT: Just saw the poll posted. I do the lead vocals.

shouldn't this go in the OT then? or misc? I mean, theres different forum sections so you don't need to label them yourself.

Mostly back ground but I am practicing to be more of a front man. Would like to start a psychedelic blues trio or quartet and I would be the occasional lead. It's real tricky singing lead and keeping a steady rhythm. I lean heavily on the drummer and she usually relys on me or the keyboardist to stay in step.

For church, I am the lead vocalist.

For The Late Hours, I periodically sing background.

It's very hard to lock with the drummer while you're singing.

I refuse to vote

No carrot option.
Also, what does 'O/T' in the original post's title refer to, & why is this in 'basses'?

I can scream, but I don't play metal, so not too many opportunities there...

I can't sing and play...or sing and not play for that matter

It's easy to sing good lead vocals with good bass work as long as you practise your arse off, same with anything obviously

I guess it's like a pianist learning complete independence of both their hands, but with two instruments at the same time instead

I sing backround vocals but occasionally sing lead on a couple tunes.

In a typical 40-song gig I sing lead on 3 or 4 songs, backgrounds on approx. 20, and not at all on 16-17.

No, not really

Now I'm more confused. You posted a question about singing & playing(technique, maybe)in basses, & label it off-topic?
But thank you for your response. I'll go vote now.

I suck at singing, hence I keep my mouth shut.
