October issue of Bass Player

Sign in to disble this ad
anyone else get their October issue yet ??
very cool of them to include a cd of various bassists ...
also good advertising for D'addario strings .
{ glad they didn't glue it in the magazine , like the Ampeg pullout }

thanks to Bill Leigh and Bass Player Magazine for this groovy extra ...

Got my issue in the mail this morning. No CD. I'm not going to lose sleep over it though. I don't think I have room in my house for another CD!!

David,

Are you pulling our collective leg? Did you buy yours in the store or do you have a subscription?

I got the CD, and it's pretty good. Lots of great stuff from a variety of people. That's weird that a lot of people didn't get it... anyone know of a reason that only select people would receive the gift?

It could be that it was provided by an advertiser and they only provided so many to be placed randomly. Yeah, this is making sense a bit more...I just checked D'addario's website and every single artist that David listed as being on the CD is listed on the website as a "D'addario performing artist". So they probably bought ad-space to put the CD in but only in a select number of magazines because it would probably bankrupt them to put it in every magazine. Sucks that so many weren't "the one."
