"OFFICIAL LOG Club"

From the survey responses, it sounds like alot of you would support making the LOG more formal (i.e. a "club" which has dues and offers various benefits to its membership)......based on that, I will do some more reseach on what this will take.....I already have done some research but need to do more.

One "hurdle" we have to get over is that (at least in Illinois) in order to collect dues and offer "items of interest" etc. we need to form a non-profit organization which includes forming some level of corporation.....I believe the costs for doing this are somewhere between $300 and $500 up front. Now, I am willing to chip in a good amount to do this (since I believe so much in it), but I would like to recoupe most of this over time (hence the need to dues etc)....

Also - we will institute dues to cover some "get together" events and seminars with some well known TBers and other Lakland people.

Lakland will assist us, but, for legal and other reasons, they cannot "sponsor" us or provide any cash to us.....

I will let you know more as I find out more.....I am trying to work a few things out with Lakland but both Dan and Helena are very busy and are tough to get hold of.......

PS - I am also trying to finalize the LOG bass! We still seem to be at a standstill of JO vs. DJ......not enough commitment to get either one made or to get both made at this point...maybe we need to go back to the drawing board!

peace!

Doug

I'd be in for paying a small amount of dues. Also, now that the Dudepit DPLEIII bass is mired in uncertainty, what about shifting the LOG bass to be a Skyline Decade instead? I personally was interested in the DPLEIII but didn't want to pre-order for a number of reasons.

I am open to suggestions.....if we can get 20+ Decades maybe that is the way to go......we can still (maybe do a similar set up)......thoughts from you other "LOG" Heads?

I really hope the LOG bass goes forward as a Jazz... not all that interested in a Decade myself. But if that's what it takes to make this project fly then so be it. For LOG to be established as a club you would think you'd have enough members interested in actually buying a Lakland... right?

You would think so.......we have about 30 "dedicated" members (based on the survey feedback and other data I have) and about 130+ "watchers"....so we should be able to get 20+ orders.....

I am all for a JAZZ myself...but...

Hey Doug,

I'm new to the site, but an ardent Lakland player/supporter. How do I join LOG? I like the idea of going more formal as well. Thanx

Ben
