The Official power trio 3 piece band club!

Ok, I searched and asked and it seems there hasn't been a club established for us trio bass players. The requirements are simple, just be part of a three piece band/power trio and share your experiences/insights on how you do the voodoo that you do. If you want a number feel free to take one in the order of your posts. In other words, next person that posts is #2, etc.

My band has 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxes, two keyboardists, two guitarists, drummer, percussionist and female singer. And me.

Sorry, I'm in the wrong thread. I guess that means I don't get a club number?

But seriously - one thing I've always wanted to do would be the real power trio thing, with a great drummer and either keys or guitar (I like both possibilities). So, I'm a little jealous. Maybe one day...?

Anyway, have fun, guys, and share the experiences.

I'm in a rock cover band trio called Quagmire. We've been together (off and on) for 5 years. I love the room that a trio allows me to have to wank around on the bass. Fewer guitars means more notes for me

Call me #5 then,I'm in a trio called Today Is.
I love the space I get to fill in a three piece and playing with a little more aggression.

Name of our band is Rebel Poets. Power trio playing classic rock, hard rock, blues whatever we set our minds to. The odd original but at this point that's not the focus. I will be #6.

PS the live recording of I Don't Need No Doctor on the site is right off the floor of a club so the mix isn't the greatest. Just a sample of what we do.

I didn't think to mention the name of my band. The band is called "Classic Act" we play mostly classic rock and blues as you could probably guess from the name.

My 3 piece band is called The Conniptions and we play party rock, classic rock, oldies, surf, 80's, and whatever else we want from the last 6 decades. A wide variety of stuff. We are from Johnstown, Pennsylvania and we have been together for 8 years and perform for about 85 shows a year. Here is our performance schedule on a regional music website.
