Would You Like A Place To Perform? (N. Spokane)
Hello! I own a cafe in N. Spokane and I am looking for acoustic musicians who would like a place to play. The deal is...I give you a place to play for free, and you promote your own gig. I will also post your gig on my website and on facebook/twitter (each with over 500 friends). In return, I would hope that your fans would purchase something to drink or eat. Sound fair?
Please email me if you are interested in such an arrangement. I love symbiotic relationships! I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Would you like a place to perform (exploitationville)
I’ve got an idea. I’m putting together a music festival. How would you like to cater it for free? It will give you an opportunity to promote your café. I will post that you are catering it on my website and twitter also. You promote yourself, in return I would hope that you would bring some of your patrons and they would purchase tickets to the event. Sound fair. I too love symbiotic relationships.

And the 2nd RE:

There are a couple of things you should recognize.
1. Musicians don't pay to play in establishments, so offering a place to play for free is not a benefit and does not save the band any money.
2. You expect to make money from the bands members and/or fans but offer no way for the band to make money from your patrons.
How, exactly, is the relationship symbiotic? Perhaps you meant parasitic?

This popped up in the Musical Instruments which, with the exception of the guy who knows that 1974 CBS Fender Strat is garbage, is usually pretty mellow. This type of diatribe is usually reserved for the "Musicians" Section which I avoid like the friggin plague.
I'm certainly inclined to agree with the detractors,...the second reply was a lot more tactful until the last line. These know it alls always crack me up though.
