OK: regarding Iron Maiden Fandom...

Sign in to disble this ad
alright: every time the name Iron Maiden is mentioned in Off Topic, at least 5 members at a time get into a flame war over who the biggest fan is.

my question is this: who here ISN'T an Iron Maiden fan?

me. Who else?

I'm not, but it's cool if other people like them.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I do have a DVD and a number of tunes on my iTunes. Sometimes you just want/need to hear Dickinson scream. I love that wide metal vibrato, too.

If you like them, awesome.
If you don't, that's fine.

Say they suck, and you'll get ripped in two

+1 NEVER piss off an Iron Maiden fan, one of the few fights I've been in, actually the only fist fight I've been in was because some kid said Maiden sucked, I kicked hiss ass.

I'm not a fan, but to be fair, I don't really like any torture devices.

Oh man, Santucci just threw down.

and I think the only way an Iron Maiden fan would kick your ass would be if they took off their tight jean jackets. I mean, those things are immobilizing!

Unless they are wearing tights instead, that make's 'em slippery.

I really really dislike Dickinson's voice... really a lot really. The original singer (name escaping me) was... easier to drown out.

Aside from a couple tunes, yeah, I really don't like Maiden. Powerslave gets the occasional spin, but it's so rare. I don't even really respect their influence, I don't know of any bands I like that I can say have a strong Maiden influence.

I hate you, I respect your opinion, but I still hate you.

I started playing bass after seeing Steve Harris play in Maiden in 1983 so that makes me the biggest fan.

i was just playing around guys, settle down.

But a ton of their songs remind me of a galloping horse, which is weak.

While not that epic, I threw away all of my picks after seeing them live.

Bought more a year later, but not for bass.

I don't know that I've ever heard an Iron Maiden song, but they have awesome album art!
