Are old Bass Player reviews available anywhere?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been looking at various used gear on Craigslist. Some of it has been reviewed in the past by Bass Player magazine, and I wish I could access those reviews, especially the "shootouts." Is that stuff available in any way, am I missing it somewhere on the website or is it just not there?

How old are the reviews you're looking for? I've been able to find the odd 3 or 4 year old review, but that's about it.

Just read a new one. All of their reviews are the same.

Yep. Pretty much. And when was the last time they had a shootout?

If you call them they can tell you which issue the review was in. Then you can order that back issue, if its still available. It is expensive, but that's the only way I know.

IMO their reviews are -as stated already- all the same & SEEM like they're paid for by the "reviewee" NEver is anything reviewed very thoroughly or reliably- they seem to say everythings either '3 or 4 outta 5 stars'....

I'd rather read through the reviews at Harmony Central. They're highly variable in quality, but if there are more than 1 or 2, you'll usually find reviews by owners who have had the instruments for a while and who have gotten over the first gidddy rush of acquisition. Those reviews are usually more helpful and accurate.
