Inspired by the age rearing it's ugly head thread, I wanted to spotlight older guys/gals that are still rockin'. How about 50 years old and up? 50 isn't that old to a 48 year old but it's just a jumping off point.
Here's an example: Bill Ward

A 12 to 15 minute upright solo that just blew everyone away, not to mention some EB pyrotechnics that had every bassist jaws dropping to the floor throughout the night. Age is just a number, too bad the industry doesn't get that.......

Sadly, the list of younger musicians who's live performances don't equal their recordings is far longer... |

It's not about age so much, as it is the attitude, although don't get me wrong gray hair, and expanding waistline, poorer eyesight and the difficulty of loading in and out are realities of the times.
There were just so many of us boomers that took to music, so there are a lot of us around. You've mentioned a few of the stars but there are literally thousands of musicians who are older than most of the TB mean age.
I take my hat off to those still willing to take up axe in hand and approach the stage for yet another performance. Fortunately, I am not bald so I don't have to don one of those hipster fedoras.
IMO, its about the fight in the (old) dog, right?
