I've got a couple of '80s songs on my list. Couple of Cure songs......Rio. Wasn't much into the dance stuff back in the day, so doubt much will come out now! lol

One song a week is not much. I was preparing for an audition and learned an entire album in 2 days. I got the gig. I try to learn something new all the time.

Well, my goal was more like 'proving' it. As 'sharing it out' and knowing you'll be sharing it out sure enhances the learning process.

Here's LOOK TO THE SKY.

Great! Footloose was the first song I learned on a 5er! Tricky chorus, isn't it? That's Nathan East on bass.

Well, poo. Bad week this week. Thanks to two different trips to two different doctors on two different days, I didn't make it this week. Started Yellow Submarine, but didn't get to finish it.

Week 1: Here Comes the Sun (done)
Week 2: I'll Be Here Awhile (done)
Week 3: Yellow Submarine (started)

Plan for this week is to finish YS and learn The Chain.

Well, last week it was strep.....this week it's norovirus. With everyone in the house spouting at both ends at some point (including me), I got nothing done. I had really hoped to get a LITTLE farther into the year before I started missing weeks. Plan for this week is to try and tighten up the first two, and start working on the other two. I'll make up the lost songs over the summer when I should have a little more free time.

I didnt record it, but it was actually pretty fun...for about 5 minutes.

The Chain was pretty simple. YS may have to wait later in the year....I just can't seem to get a handle on it. Not sure why. This week, I'm not sure about. Feeling the need to get some surf on. Maybe Happy as a Clam, by Kelp.

On a related note, there's a Montreal musician doing a project called "Une toune par jour" or One Song per Day if you prefer. His goal is to compose a song per day for 2013. It's pretty cool.

Here's the link:

Well....been a couple of weeks. Haven't learned anything new......mostly because I've found some guys to hopefully get my band reformed, so I've spent what little time I've had refreshing my memory on all the old stuff. A good thing, but kind of derailed me. I'll get back to learning new material here in a couple of weeks, hopefully.
